Hello/ Bonjour Parkland Composite students, families, and staff!

There are not enough words to describe how excited I am to become a part of your team. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

My name is Shyla Locke, and I am a passionate French Immersion educator who was born and raised in northern Alberta. I started my education journey at Red Deer
College in their social work program and then moved onto the University of Alberta to
complete my undergrad in secondary education in French and physical education. After almost a decade of being in the classroom and being a learning leader for the Modern Languages department, I completed my master’s degree in educational leadership at the University of Calgary. I am a HUGE advocate for French immersion and second language programming and do my best to support the success of language teachers, families, and my students. My hope is to continue to grow the program at PCHS and in the division.

My family and I love adventure, so you will often find us travelling and doing our best to take part in different cultural events. We love skiing, skating and all things winter activity related!
LET’S GO OILERS!

With all that said, I cannot wait to step into the school and work and learn alongside all of you!
